Tom Brady lost dock and 2 jet skis as Eta beat Florida

Tom Brady had his first serious contact with severe weather in Florida.

Brady, who was staying in Tampa during his stint with the Buccaneers, said Thursday his jet skis took off as Tropical Storm Eta hit the area.

“Hurricane – it was a trip last night for me. I had a dock that broke [and] floated away. I had these jet skis on it. I saw these things sitting in the middle of the bay and I was like, ‘Wow, that’s pretty surreal. I was laughing like, ‘Well you’ll get the jet skis back. A lot of people face a lot worse than that, ”he said.

“Just wake up and see what happened to the yard – it was pretty messed up. I would be really nervous if a big hit fell. It happened quite quickly. I thought you had time to prepare for these things, but apparently you didn’t. They’re sort of right on you and then you have to deal with them. We have pushed back the schedule today. Fortunately, everyone made it safe and sound.

Brady is more used to snow and the potential for earthquakes or wildfires, because he played for the New England Patriots for so long, went to college in Michigan, and grew up in California.

Eta has been blamed for at least one death as he made landfall in Florida. The storm was expected to bring heavy rain to the southeast and northeast during Friday.
