Tom From Myspace lives the millennial dream

It’s 2021 and the person I envy the most is Tom from Myspace.

Tom from Myspace is sort of a BuzzFeed legend.

It has been featured on approximately 792 BuzzFeed lists.

He is essentially, for lack of better words, Millennials’ “first friend”.

One thing millennials love to joke about is Myspace.

But you can laugh at Myspace as much as you want, because Myspace Tom is living the dream.

It was his biography a few years ago:

Yeah, he retired in his thirties.

For those who don’t know, Tom sold Myspace for $ 580 million in 2009.

Upon retirement, he also became interested in surfing, design and investing. He may or may not be retired now, but he’s certainly “living the good life.”

Now let’s talk about how he spent the 2010s.

Tom spent his 2010s – that is, his retirement – traveling the world taking pictures.

He once even tweeted about buying a car in Italy and the rules for taking it to other EU countries.

Europeans! If I buy a car in Italy, can I drive it to any country in the EU without additional paperwork, border controls or insurance hassles?

Now let’s talk about his photography.

Over the years he has shared photos of caves in Iceland:

It took off over the Philippines:

Myspace Tom probably had everyone’s best 2010s.

I am the most envious of Myspace Tom because he has practically disappeared from all social media in the past couple of years.

He appeared once or twice for a word or two.

One of his most iconic responses was to that viral tweet about how Myspace never sold our data, tried to influence elections, or in general did something problematic.

Do you remember Tom? Remember how he just sold his $ 500 million share in myspace and retired so he could have a good life? He never sold our data, never tried to influence elections, never lobbied against privacy laws … what a man. Myspace was just too pure for this world.

To which Tom came out of retirement with a simple answer:
