Tom Homan criticizes Mayorkas’ remarks at the border: “I wanted to launch something on television”

Former ICE acting director Tom Homan told “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday that the Biden administration did not have operational control of the southern border, as the DHS secretary claimed, Alejandro Mayorkas.

GREG ABBOTT: AMERICANS WILL HAVE NO IDEA THAT A BIDEN ADMINISTRATION WILL LEAD TO SUCH CHAOS AT THE BORDER

TOM HOMAN: I watched this press conference. I wanted to throw something on TV. I don’t know what the color of the sky is in his world, but he can’t say two things: First, he says Haitians are deported. When this first happened, about three-quarters of them were released. It wasn’t until they were called on that that he decided, okay, we have to kick some of them out. But a lot is published on ICE and ICE will publish them.

Another thing he said, when the reporter asked [Mayorkas], “Do you have operational control of the border? He said yes. They lost operational control. When there are 350,000 sorties, there is no operational control. When you run sources from Rio Grande Vally to Del Rio, which leaves 224 miles of border unattended, I saw the assignment sheets, 224 miles of southern border was unattended because there was an increase in resources to these other areas. It is not operational security. When Haitians travel back and forth to Mexico for supplies and freely enter the illegal camp on US property, it is not operational control.
