Tomb Raider Reloaded revealed as a Lara Croft comeback game for Android, iOS

We haven’t seen Lara Croft since 2018 Shadow of the Tomb Raider, but it looks like the heroine is back in action. Today, Square Enix unveiled a short trailer for the next game in the series: Tomb Raider Reloaded. It feels like a much cuter and fantasy version of the franchise, with dinosaurs and golems threatening Lara.

Recharged is developed by Emerald City Games (GI Joe: War Against Cobra) and the Square Enix London mobile team. So far, the announcement is light on the details – we don’t have a 100% idea of how the game will control, or where Lara’s adventures will take her. But it’s nice to see Lara back in her shorts and tank top. Fans hoping for a lighter version of the franchise after the grim and cruel feel of the Tomb Raider reboot franchise should be happy, however. Lara will be back to fight giant spiders and dodge arrow traps, and there’s even a spooky T-Rex to look forward to.

Square Enix describes Tomb Raider Reloaded as “a free action arcade game”. Lara has already appeared on mobile devices in a puzzle game Lara Croft Go and action-runner game Tomb Raider: Relic Run.
