Tommy Lister legally changed his name to ‘Debo’ in homage to ‘Friday’

TMZ got from Tommy death certificate, and although a cause of death has not yet been officially determined … we have noticed a very interesting nugget. His full name reads Tommy Debo Lister, very different from his announced birth name … Thomas Duane Lister Jr.

This is interesting for several reasons. Obviously, Tommy is best known for playing Deebo in the “Friday” franchise – and, no, we didn’t misspell him … but it looks like Tommy did. In any case, it’s quite clear that he loved the character – so much so that he made it part of his real identity … opting for it instead of “Tiny,” his long-standing public nickname. dated.

His manager, Cindy cowan, tells TMZ he made the switch in a Los Angeles court about 6 months ago – because he felt his fans and the general public had just known him since “Friday.”
