Tony Hsieh to be honored with Fremont Street Experience Viva Vision

Tony Hsieh is honored on Saturday night on the Viva Vision video canopy of Fremont Street Experience. The Hsieh family asked their visionary downtown Las Vegas colleague Derek Stevens and his wife Nicole to lead the tribute.

“They want a tribute and I’m glad they reached out to Nicole and I this morning,” Stevens, co-owner of Circa, D Las Vegas and the Golden Gate hotel and casino, said in a text message Saturday.

Details are still being sorted out, but Stevens said plans center on an 8 p.m. show on Viva Vision’s LED screens, with FSE as the meeting place.

Hsieh died at a hospital in New London, Connecticut on Friday from injuries sustained in a house fire on November 18. He was 46 years old.

Hsieh co-founded clothing company Zappos, headquartered in the old Las Vegas City Hall building since 2013. A generous philanthropist, Hsieh’s investments changed the face of what would become the neighborhood. Fremont East.
