Tony La Russa was reportedly charged with DUI in Arizona a day before he was named manager of the Chicago White Sox.

La Russa was arrested in late February after running his car on a sidewalk near Phoenix, ESPN reported citing court documents. He told an officer who responded to the incident that he was having dinner and had a tire problem. After a field sobriety test, he was reportedly taken into custody.

The officer was given a warrant to draw blood from La Russa after the Hall of Famer refused a breathalyzer test or his blood or urine was tested for his blood alcohol level, according to the report.
