Trent Thornton will start the third game and is 0-3 with an ERA of 4.08 and 38 strikeouts this season. This will be Thornton's second career start against Minnesota.

As a fan of the Blue Jays, it bothers me to say it, but it's difficult for me to defend Toronto when they did not score in this series and continue to go through offensive dry periods that cost team games. Thornton was also touched for four points in 4.2 innings in his only start against the Twins. Gibson has had his own ups and downs, but Minnesota have been the best team here, so even on the road, I'm going to drop the juice with the Twins here.
