At this early stage, Toyota has not specified whether the Highlander Hybrid would use a continuously variable transmission. The Highlander 2020 comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on an 8-inch touch screen, with satellite radio and onboard Wi-Fi. Available features include integrated navigation, a 12.3-inch touch screen and a 1,200-watt JBL with 11 speakers. premium audio system.

Last year, the Highlander offered an intermediate cargo compartment. This year, the Toyota is now offering less than average cargo space. With the third row folded, the 2020 model recedes by a few cubes compared to the 2019 model, but when you fold the second and third rows, the new Highlander offers 10 cubic feet less space compared to its predecessor.

Free height and legroom

Toyota has not yet released statistics regarding head and leg clearance for its new Highlander. So hopefully the reduction in cargo space features above is not a bad omen for the redesigned SUV.

Last year, the Highlander shined with its top clearance before, but up the back, its third-row safety margin reached last place against the competition shown below. To add insult to injury, the legroom of the third row of the Highlander 2019 was an embarrassing 27.7 cubic feet. Hope that Toyota has learned from the previous generation.

In terms of base prices last year, you could not get a Highlander over $ 50,000. It is also unlikely that you can exceed a $ 50,000 price on the 2020 model as well. This is partly because at least last year, the Hybrid Limited with the Platinum package was using a more expensive V6 engine. The hybrid of this year uses a power of four cylinders, while the V6 option is the only one.
