Toyota has released preliminary details of a Supra GT4 concept car that it will launch at the Geneva International Motor Show later this month.

The Japanese manufacturer presents its latest model based on motorsport as a "race study model" to "explore the possibility of using the GR supra in motor sports customers such as private racing.

The Toyota GR Supra GT4 Concept should not participate in any race. However, according to a statement from Toyota, it would be "an ideal vehicle to serve as a base for motorized sports customers."

Meanwhile, a spokesman for Toyota Gazoo Racing confirmed to Sportscar365 that the Supra registered to participate in Nurburgring 24 later this year was the same A90 model that had played in the final of the VLN 2018 series, not the GT4 model .

Although the technical specifications have been left out, Toyota claims that the Supra GT4 Concept is no match for the future Supra and is equipped with suspensions, brakes, aerodynamics and a cage protection.

Toyota's latest racing concept is the third of its kind in recent years, succeeding the GR Super Sport inspired by the LMP1 and the GR Supra Racing Concept, designed according to GTE standards.

In January, the company confirmed that a supra support by the GT500 would replace the outgoing Lexus LC500 this year in Japanese Super GT.
