Toyota's Highlander 2020 Comes to the Top of SUV Convenience

Seriously, look at the scowl on this thing. Toyota spoke this morning of the slimmer and more angular lines of the new Highlander, but the company has remained strangely silent against the painful face of the SUV. Although its new look gives the Highlander a more aggressive attitude, make no mistake: the name of the game is here (as usual) practical.

This is especially true of the Highlander Hybrid, which – in addition to racing between seven and eight people in three rows – is rated at a staggering 34 km / gallon. This is a notable advantage over last year 's model, on which you can normally expect to be around 26MPG. Here too, expect a decent selection of horses: the Highlander Hybrid produces about 240 hp, which is not too bad for a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine coupled with a pair of electric motors.

However, if hybrid vehicles do not interest you, there is always the more standard Highlander, with its dual VVT-i V6 3.5-liter engine. This will certainly give you a little more punch, but the extra power on demand will be especially helpful if you have to move into a camper or something. (Again, you may not be dragging too many campers when it starts to make its way to dealerships this winter.)
