The Trail Blazers have struck a deal with free agent forward Derrick Jones Jr. According to Athletic’s Shams Charania, Jones is expected to sign a two-year, $ 19 million contract with Portland.

According to NBA reporter David Aldridge, Jones’ second year of contract is a player option.

Jones, a 23-year-old athletic forward, played 59 regular season games with the Heat last season. In those outings, he’s averaged 8.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. At All-Star Weekend 2020, Jones won the dunk contest

If that stated contract figure is correct, the Blazers have successfully exercised their mid-level exception to acquire Jones.
