Ford v Ferrari is the true story of American designer Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) and British pilot Ken Miles, played by Christian Bale. It was the head coach trained by Ford to design a race car capable of bringing down Ferrari, winner at Le Mans, in perpetuity.
If the new trailer of the next movie is an indication, Shelby and Miles were not a match in racing paradise.
Even though – as can be seen in the trailer – the Ford executives issued a clear mission: "We are going to bury Ferrari at Le Mans", Shelby and Miles had a conflictual relationship that could have torpedoed their partnership. It seems to be played to laugh as Bale and Damon wrestle like schoolboys in this preview, only to end with shared sarcasm and insults.
