Of all the Taika Waititi films, alongside Scarlett Johansson, who tells the story of a young boy whose Adolf Hitler is an imaginary friend, Jojo Rabbit is, without a doubt, the most intriguing.
Waititi's film, nicknamed "an anti-hate satire", follows a lonely 10-year-old boy named Jojo (Roman Griffin Davis) living in Hitler's fascist regime who, after attending a Nazi youth camp, invents a friend Fantasy-based fantasy Führer himself (interpreted by screenwriter and director Waititi) to help him face the realities of the Second World War. Jojo Rabbit sees Thor: Ragnarok Director Waititi goes back behind the camera and works on his own script based on the 2008 novel Cage sky by Christine Leunens. The film co-starred Sam Rockwell, Rebel Wilson and Alfie Allen as Nazi officers at the head of the youth camp, with Stephen Merchant playing the role of a Gestapo officer.
