Netflix released the first trailer for The perfect date Tuesday.
Noah Centineo is back in the genre of the romantic comedy as Brooks Rattigan, an Ivy League hopeful who misses the credits and extra funds to attend the school of his dreams. After taking advantage of the opportunity to earn a bit of money as a replacement date, Brooks enlisted the help of his fellow programmer Murph (Odiseas Georgiadis) to launch an app that sells him as a plus- one for all occasions.

The trailer opens and Brooks explains his aspirations as a high school student. "I've always wanted to go out with the most popular girl, drive the most beautiful car and go to the most classy school," he said in voiceover. . "But I can not afford anything."
One day, while working in a fast food restaurant, Brooks hears a customer complaining that his uncle pays him to escort his cousin to a dance. Brooks offers his help quickly in return for the money and the opportunity to drive the customer's beautiful car.
Brooks then chooses Celia (Marano) for the dance and remains determined to make the most of the night. Back home, Celia suggests turning this idea into a business. "Rich, struggling girls in need of a chaperone, that could be a big deal here," she says.
Following the success of the dance, Brooks capitalizes on the idea and creates an app called The Stand-In to help pay for Yale's tuition.
"Every date would be custom-built, they could choose my personality, my interests, whether I'm listener or talker," he explains about the application.
Later in the trailer, Brooks reveals to Celia that the strangest date he went to was to listen to a girl talking for four hours in a row. "All I had the right to say, was:" There is no other way to see it, "he says.
While the app continues to succeed, Brooks is hired by his crush, Shelby (Mendes), to accompany him on a date. While he is caught in a new life that he still yearns for, his friends point out that he has changed.
"I've been so many in recent months – a cowboy, an art connoisseur and a bad friend," he explains as he plays in the many characters. "It's time to understand who I am and what I want."
The perfect date will be available for streaming on Netflix on April 12th.
