Trailer Waves: Sterling K. Brown tops the buzzworthy intimate epic of the A24

A24 released the first trailer of the upcoming drama waveswho, of course, took advantage of his debut at the Telluride Film Festival. Written and directed by Trey Edward Shults, the film traces the epic emotional journey of an Afro-American suburban family, led by a well-meaning but domineering father played by Sterling K. Brown. The impressive set includes Hamilton alum Renee Elise Goldsberry like the matriarch family and Luce burst Kelvin Harrison Jr. like their teenage son.

This trailer is truly breathtaking and hints at important emotional beats to come while keeping the film's main plot secret. This is a movie that has been wrapped in some intrigue –Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross The original music was composed, and there were rumors that it would be a musical – but his enthusiastic response to Telluride suggests that this film could become an epic movie later in the year.
