Jaguars running back Travis Etienne underwent further tests on his foot on Tuesday after injuring himself in Monday night’s game against the Saints and the results are not good for the first round pick.

According to several reports, Etienne suffered a Lisfranc injury to the foot. He will need to undergo surgery to repair the injury and will likely miss the entire 2021 season as a result.

That’s not how the Jaguars wanted Etienne to start his career, but the team has depth to fall back on in the backfield. Both James Robinson and Carlos Hyde are on the scene, but neither presents the kind of threat Jacksonville hoped Stephen would be in his attack.

This attack has not impressed at this point in the preseason and their attempt at a change which will have to be done without Etienne’s help.
