Travis Scott Donates 50,000 Meals to Houston Area Residents Affected by Texas Deep Freeze
Travis Scott provided 50,000 hot meals to Houston-area residents struggling with the Texas Freeze.
The 29-year-old hitmaker made the charitable donation through a partnership between his charity, the Cactus Jack Foundation, the City of Houston and the Houston Health Foundation.
The mayor of the city, Sylvester Turner, also participated in the organization of the relief.

The rapper is currently working with community figures and other charitable foundations to provide more meals for at-risk residents living in a high-priority zip code.
Two of the organizations involved in the effort are the National Association of Christian Churches and the Black Service Chamber.
The North American winter storm of February 13-17, also known as Winter Storm Uri, began in the Pacific Northwest and quickly moved to the songwriter’s home state of Texas.
Record temperatures were recorded across much of the state and snowstorms devastated many at-risk residents.
Severe Conditions: Winter storm Uri began earlier this month and made its way to Scott’s hometown of Texas, where it brought extreme weather and caused widespread power outages.
Massive power outages also occurred in many towns and communities, leaving thousands of people without water or electricity during the weather event.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued a declaration of disaster on February 12, which was approved by President Joe Biden two days later.
Although the Electric Reliability Council of Texas restored power to about 600,000 Texans on February 17, the situation remains dire for millions of people.
As of Sunday, at least 8.8 million residents were still under orders to boil water, according to NBC News.
Houston and Austin were previously under water restrictions, although both cities were deemed stable last week.

Scott established the Cactus Jack Foundation last year with the goal of enriching the lives of youth in the Houston area.
The foundation’s first initiative was the launch of the HBCU Waymon Webster scholarship program, which aimed to cover the tuition fees of students who have been financially affected by the global pandemic.
Last December, the singer-songwriter of Sicko Mode organized a toy drive in his hometown; Christmas trees and warm clothes were also distributed during the charity function.
Scott’s ex-girlfriend Kylie Jenner and the couple’s three-year-old daughter Stormi also made appearances at the toy drive.
The social media personality commemorated the event with a post on her Instagram Story showing her child supporting her father during the ceremony.
