Tmany mechanical "trees" could soon begin to absorb carbon emissions from the air as part of a new agreement to bring to market a revolutionary climate technology.
An Irish-based technology company will announce a historic agreement this week to develop vast forests of carbon capture columns, which would be a thousand times more efficient than trees in removing carbon dioxide from the air.
Silicon Kingdom, backed by a group of oil industry veterans, will work alongside US polluters to deploy the technology developed by pioneering carbon capture, Professor Klaus Lackner, of Arizona State University .
