Trent Brown marvels Tom Brady and Dante Scarnecchia ahead of Free Agency | Patriots of New England

Trent Brown could have asked for better results in what might be his only season with the New England Patriots.

After coming back from the San Francisco 49ers in an offseason transaction, Brown started every game on the left in New England, protecting Tom Brady's blind to the Super Bowl LIII title.

In an appearance on "Adam Schefter's podcast" on Monday, the 25-year-old was very kind to Brady and Patriots coaches Dante Scarnecchia, whom Brown respects.

"Tom is really one of the coolest guys I've ever met in my life, and it's by no means (B.S.) far from imaginative," Brown said. "He's really a cool guy. It's really the only way for me to say it. "

With regard to Scarnecchia, Brown said that having the opportunity to learn with the legendary assistant was "for sure" the highlight of his term with the Patriots, which could end once that Brown will be in free agency next month.

"He reminds me a lot of my dad," said Brown of Scarnecchia, 71. "Not in stature, but certainly as he works the room, controls the room and directs the room and directs everyone. Brown said last month that he saw Scarnecchia "being a longtime friend outside of football".

"Everyone loves him, and everyone likes to work for him and his way of training and loving us at the same time," Brown said on Schefter's podcast. "The way he does it, his timing is perfect – impeccable."

The Patriots won 14 games in Brown's first season with the team, more than his three seasons with the 49ers combined.

"(This season was) a dream," he said. "It's almost wrong. Moving from 13 to 35 years to a difficult start (this season), and then finish as we did, it was amazing how determined we were to finish strong. "

Brown, who is expecting a big pay raise after earning only $ 1.9 million this season, said he "would like" to renew the contract with the Patriots but acknowledged the nature of the NFL business.

"We will cross this bridge when we get there," he told Schefter.
