The Clemson and Florida state football game was postponed hours before kick-off on Saturday after medical teams from both schools failed to agree on whether to play.
Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who was due to make his first start since contracting the coronavirus earlier in the season and missed two games because of it, reacted to the cancellation in a tweet a few hours later late.

“Dude, we were ready to play,” he wrote.
Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovich said the school was “disappointed” that the game could not start.
“Clemson went through all of ACC protocol in preparation for this game. We look forward to returning to action next week against Pitt for Senior Day and Military Appreciation Day, ”Radakovich said in a statement.

“Our first priority is the health of our student-athletes, and I appreciate the protocols that have been put in place by the FSU and CCA to ensure the health of all while allowing us to play this season,” said Florida State Coach Mike Norvell. “It’s a shame we don’t have a chance to compete today, but we hope to be able to play Clemson in December. I am grateful for the support and coordination between our administration, Clemson and the CAC office. team will now focus on welcoming Virginia next week. ”
Part of the gambling problem, according to CBS Sports, came when a Clemson player’s COVID-19 test came back positive on Saturday morning.

Illustrated sports, citing a source, reported that the state of Florida is generally concerned about messages to its student-athletes, as the school has maintained strict standards for positive tests in its own curriculum. Coach Mike Norvell was forced to leave the team in September with his own positive test.
