The Clemson and Florida state football game was postponed hours before kick-off on Saturday after medical teams from both schools failed to agree on whether to play.

Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who was due to make his first start since contracting the coronavirus earlier in the season and missed two games because of it, reacted to the cancellation in a tweet a few hours later late.

“Dude, we were ready to play,” he wrote.

Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovich said the school was “disappointed” that the game could not start.

“Clemson went through all of ACC protocol in preparation for this game. We look forward to returning to action next week against Pitt for Senior Day and Military Appreciation Day, ”Radakovich said in a statement.

I am grateful for the support and coordination between our administration, Clemson and the CAC office. team will now focus on welcoming Virginia next week. ”

Part of the gambling problem, according to CBS Sports, came when a Clemson player’s COVID-19 test came back positive on Saturday morning.
