AB Inbev is expected to face a more in-depth review in the near term, as this failure is another negative market judgment on the merger, decided in 2015, of AB InBev and SAB Miller. This agreement, which imposed on the merged company one of the heaviest debts in the world, has not allowed to generate the promised profits: the stock has fallen by almost 30% compared to the date of its agreement, a period during which rivals such as Carlsberg (CSE:), Constellation Brands (NYSE 🙂 and Heineken (AS 🙂 have increased between a third and a half.

That said, AB Inbev's management could still be justified in concluding the deal.
