Trump applauds the movement 'Jexodus' and calls on Jewish voters to become Republicans

President Donald Trump said Friday that the Republican party "was waiting with open arms" to welcome Jewish voters fleeing the "total disrespect" of Democrats that the GOP has accused of harboring anti-Semitic sentiments.

The president praised the so-called "Jexodus" movement – which claims to be a grassroots movement aimed at getting thousands of Jews to massively desert the Democratic Party – excerpts from Fox News and the right-wing One America News Network organization.

"The movement" Jexodus "encourages Jews to leave the Democratic Party," he writes in a tweet. "Total lack of respect! Republicans are waiting with open arms. Remember Jerusalem (US Embassy) and the horrible Iran nuclear deal! "

Trump called the Democrats "anti-Israel" party after a series of comments from the freshman representative, freshman Ilhan Omar (D-Min.) On the support of politicians to Israel, were considered by many like antisemitic prey. Omar's comments culminated in a unanimous House vote last week on a resolution condemning fanaticism, which some said did not go far enough to refer to the Congresswoman of Minnesota.

Trump asserted that while Jewish Americans tend to be trustworthy Democratic voters, the party's left-wing movement in recent years, as evidenced by the division of Omar's remarks, has alienated Jewish voters.

The so-called Jexodus movement that Trump has congratulated twice in recent days seems to have arisen at about the same time as the annual CPAC Conservative gathering, where Trump's campaign advisor, Jeff Ballabon tweeted that he "announced the news of the most recent #Jewish movement".

A website for Jexodus lists only spokeswoman, model and former employee of the Trump campaign, Elizabeth Pipko, and no other staff members. A description on the website indicates that millennia Jews are "tired of living in the slavery of left politics" and accuse the Democrats of taking the Jewish vote for granted.

Until recently, support for Israel was almost unanimous within the mainstream of both political parties, but the progressive vocal base of the Democratic Party increasingly defends the rights of Palestinians, provoking a split in which congressional Democrats publicly fought to fight it.

The president, who has himself been accused of promoting anti-Semitic stereotypes and not completely denouncing hate speech, has positioned himself as a defender of Israel throughout his presidency.

Trump is an extremely close ally of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Last year, it was followed up on a repeated promise by the presidents of both parties to relocate the US Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. He also removed the United States from the Iranian nuclear deal, an initiative that Israel had been striving for for a long time and that Trump had invoked to pressure Jewish voters to change sides.
