Trump challenged by H.R. McMaster for taking notes: Report

President Trump would have taken a look at the former National Security Advisor, Mr. R. McMaster, for taking notes at White House meetings.

McMaster often took notes, infuriating the president with his practice. "Why are you still writing in this book?" Trump told McMaster, according to a New York Times report. McMaster's whispered response, which people in the room did not remember, did not please Trump.

Since leaving Trump's administration, McMaster has spoken of his time at the White House, sometimes corroborating the information provided by the West Wing. For example, after learning that former director of the National Economic Council, Gary Cohn, had withdrawn a trade-related document from Trump's office to prevent him from signing it, McMaster defended the action , describing it as "entirely appropriate".

McMaster, who was replaced by John Bolton as a national security advisor last year, was also a victim of heat caused by leaks from the West Wing. He sent a memo to staff regarding the leaks which was then leaked to the press. McMaster then shared two reasons why he believed that there were so many leaks.
