WASHINGTON – Minutes after the House of Representatives passed a $ 19.1 billion bipartisan disaster relief bill, President Donald Trump praised it and said called the Senate to pass the bill.

The only problem? The Senate has already approved it and the bill will now be signed by Trump.

"The House has just passed the $ 19.1 billion Disaster Assistance Bill, and we are now going to do it in the Senate!" Trump tweeted Monday night. "Farmers, Puerto Rico and all will be very happy," wrote Trump in a tweet now deleted.

The president is currently in London for a state visit to the UK.

Democratic lawmakers quickly noticed that the president was wrong and that the Senate had already voted and passed the bill.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-Calif., Tweeted that the President was "clearly confused".

"President @realDonaldTrump, you are clearly confused," he writes. "The Senate passed the bill two weeks ago, fortunately, after having blocked it for so long, you're not too confused to sign it!"

The Senate last month adopted the 85-8 Disaster Assistance Program. He was then sent to the House. However, this was delayed because the House suspended its work just before receiving its bill.

House leaders have tried to pass the bill three times using a procedure called "unanimous consent," which allows for its passage if no one opposes it. But, a Republican legislator objected each time.

The House finally passed the bill on Monday at 354-58 minutes.

Representative Jim Himes, D-Conn., tweeted"Hum, Mr. President, this has already been passed by the Senate, I'm just spitting here, but there may be some here who can tell you about it.

In addition, Rep. Bill Foster, D-Ill., Also criticized the GOP Chair and legislators for his tweet.

"The president may have forgotten that the Senate had already passed this bill because its Republican allies in the House had spent the last two weeks blocking it," he said. Foster tweeted.
