The New York Times reported that the names are part of a list of thanksgiving the president intends to unveil on Tuesday. The list will likely cover at least 60 pardons or commutations that could end up exceeding 100.

People briefed on the calls told The Times it had phoned some of the recipients and held another meeting on the matter on Monday.

Lil wayne pleaded guilty to a federal firearms charge in December, and faces up to 10 years in prison. He was charged in December 2019 with illegally transporting a loaded handgun on his way from California to South Florida.

The rapper meet with Trump in October, and praised the president’s proposed “Platinum Plan” to help the black community.

Silver was twice convicted of corruption in 2015. The former Democratic lawmaker was condemned to 78 months in prison in July 2020.

Sholam Weiss is also on the list, according to The Times, who was sentenced to more than 800 years in 2000 for racketeering, wire fraud and money laundering for a fraudulent scheme that defrauded $ 450 million from a company of ‘insurance.

The White House declined to comment to The New York Times and did not immediately return a request for comment from The Hill.

Multiple media reported earlier Monday that the new batch of around 100 pardons will likely cover white-collar criminals and high-profile rappers.

The president issued a series of pardons in December and reportedly launched the idea of forgive oneself and family members.
