WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump has announced that he will hold a celebration on July 4th at the Lincoln Memorial. And although the event that he calls "A Salute to America" is in a few months, he boasts of the fact that it will be one of the biggest gatherings of the city for the day of Independence.
Here's what seems to be known: Trump will deliver a speech and there will be fireworks, which should be the National Parks Service's free annual holiday show.
Here's what we do not know: who will provide the entertainment and how it can fit into the annual evening concert on the Capitol's west lawn and at the usual holiday parades.
Previous estimates of Trump's crowd have drawn criticism. Trump said nearly 1.5 million people attended his inauguration at the Capitol and National Mall, but Park Service's photographs undermined this claim.
