At a press conference, the president claimed that he had no control over the activities of the Trump Organization, while dismissing the problem as a widespread problem in hotels and resorts seaside.

"Are you convinced that there are no undocumented immigrants working in your Bedminster property or in other Trump golf properties?" a pool reporter asked on Friday.

"Well, I do not know that because I do not," Trump replied. "But I would say this: probably all clubs in the United States have this because it seems like, as I understand it, a way of doing business."

Trump's remarks come after nearly two dozen undocumented workers who were fired from his properties this year sent a letter to the White House asking the administration to rethink the eviction orders to which some are subject.

"We are modest people who represent the dreams of 11 million men, women and undocumented children who live and work in this country," says the letter. "You know that we are working hard and that we are not criminals or supporters of America.We pay all our taxes, love our faith and our family and just want to find a place to further improve America. "

Trump and the White House have not responded publicly to the letter.
