President Trump assaulted Governor Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday – a day after the New York Attorney General's office assigned the Trump organization's records.
Trump attempted to portray Cuomo as another Democrat who targets the president for political reasons, even though the governor does not control the Attorney General's office.
"New York State and Governor Andrew Cuomo Are Now Proud of the Group of Presidential Harassers", Trump wrote on Twitter, referring to AG Letitia James' subpoena.
"No wonder people are fleeing the state in record numbers. The witch hunt continues!
On Monday, James' office summoned Deutsche Bank and Investors Bank to document the unsuccessful bid by Trump for the purchase of the Buffalo Bills and other commercial transactions by the Trump organization.
The Deutsche Bank's subpoena targets loan applications, mortgages, lines of credit and other financial transaction records related to several Trump hotels in the United States, the New York Times reported on Monday.
Investors Bank, based in New Jersey, has been summoned for documents related to Trump Park Avenue. James also asked for documents related to Trump's attempts to buy the Bills in 2014.
On Tuesday, James lobbied Albany lawmakers to relax the double jeopardy laws prohibiting prosecutors from pursuing similar prosecutions against pardoned people in the federal government.
