A US House of Representatives aide group plans to call on members of the US Senate to convict former President Trump on the charge of “inciting insurgency.”
The request is spelled out in a draft letter that was circulated on Capitol Hill Wednesday. A copy was obtained by Fox News.
The letter does not indicate whether the assistants circulating it work for House Democrats or House Republicans, or for House members from both parties. It indicates at the end that the signatories were “in the process of being collected”.
No signatory was listed on the copy obtained by Fox News.
The letter states that on January 6, “our workplace was attacked by a violent mob attempting to stop the electoral college vote count. This crowd was instigated by former President Donald J. Trump and his colleagues. political allies, some of whom day in the halls at work. “
