Trump ‘beyond anger’ over impeachment defense team demonstration: sources
Former President Trump was “furious” and “beyond anger” at the presentation of his defense team on day one of his second impeachment trial, although his final acquittal is almost certain, two sources said on Fox News Tuesday night.
The sources, who have spent time with Trump, said he was particularly angered at the efforts so far made by his lawyer Bruce Castor. Trump believes Castor gave a rambling opening argument, they said. Biden AG chooses Merrick Garland to face Senate hearings next week
Confirmation hearings are scheduled for Feb. 22 and 23 for Merrick Garland, President Biden’s candidate for U.S. attorney general, according to reports.
Garland will appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee in hopes of winning confirmation in the cabinet position, which is the leadership position of the US Department of Justice.
The schedule makes a confirmation vote on Garland’s appointment likely for March 1, Politico reported, noting that Judiciary Committee chairman Dick Durbin, D-Ill., And rank member Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, had accepted the schedule.

Biden foiled by German Merkel, says former Trump intelligence chief
