President Trump has spent $ 3 million on recounts in two Wisconsin counties after the election – but so far the end result is 132 more votes for Joe Biden.
Those costly new votes, all from Milwaukee County, now add to Biden’s lead of nearly 20,600 votes in the state.
Trump has called for recounts in Milwaukee and Dane counties – which are largely Democratic – in hopes of recouping a victory in the state.
The Danish recount continues; So far, he has tipped 68 votes in favor of Trump, with the recount due to end on Sunday.
A Republican lawsuit aimed at blocking certification of the state’s election results is still pending in the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and Trump’s campaign appears to be brewing even more 11th hour court challenges in hopes of changing the result.
But by law, state election officials must certify election results on Tuesday.
Milwaukee County Clerk George Christenson has promised the results of the recounts are transparent, accurate and fair.
“There was a scrutiny of every ballot by election officers, a meticulous recount of every ballot that was correctly cast, a transparent process that allowed the public to observe, a fair process that allows the aggrieved candidate who called the recount an opportunity to observe and oppose ballots that they believe should not be counted, ”Christenson told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Judges dismissed Trump’s lawsuits in Arizona, Pennsylvania and Georgia, and dismissed his allegations of voter fraud as baseless.
Nevada, Georgia and Pennsylvania recently certified their results, each declaring Biden the winner.
