Trump returns fire and destroys ‘self-promoters’ Fauci and Birx

Former President Donald Trump attacked Drs. Anthony Fauci and Deborah Birx after criticizing his handling of the COVID-19 response.

Prominent members of Trump’s White House coronavirus task force said on a CNN special that Trump was putting the public at risk – but in his rebuttal, Trump accused them of rejecting the blame.

Trump included punches on Fauci’s botched opening field during a baseball game in July and the Birx controversy involving a seemingly hypocritical Thanksgiving trip.

“Based on their interviews, I felt it was time to talk about Dr Fauci and Dr Birx, two self-promoters trying to reinvent the story to cover up their bad instincts and flawed recommendations, which I luckily have almost always reversed, ”Trump said in the emailed statement.

“They made bad political decisions that would have left our country open to China and others, closed to our economy reopening and years of an approved vaccine – putting millions of lives at risk.”

Trump said his administration has developed vaccines “in record time, nine months, saving the whole world” and that Fauci is “the king of” flip flops “and moving poles to make himself look as good as he can. “

“In a fake interview last night on CNN, Dr. Fauci, who said he was an athlete in college but couldn’t throw a baseball even near home plate, it was a ‘rollerblading’ ‘, tried to take credit for the vaccine, when in fact he said it would take three to five years, and probably more, for it to be approved. Dr Fauci was unable to pressure the FDA to pass faster. I did it, and even the fake media know and report it, ”Trump said.

“He fought me so hard because he wanted to keep our country open to countries like China. I closed it against his strong recommendation, which saved many lives. Dr Fauci also said we don’t need to wear masks and then a few months later he said we need to wear masks, and now two or three of them. Fauci spent US money on the Wuhan lab in China – and now we know how it worked, ”Trump said.

Trump said that Fauci and Birx “were moving far too slowly, and if it were up to them, we would be locked in our basements right now as our country suffers from a financial depression.” Families, and children in particular, would experience the mental strains of this disaster like never before. “

In his interview, Fauci appeared to claim credit for vaccine development and slammed Trump for tweeting in April 2020 that states should be ‘freed’ from draconian COVID-19 lockdowns – saying ‘it hit me like a punch to the chest ”. Birx said that after the first 100,000 deaths in the United States from the virus, “everything else … could have been alleviated or significantly reduced.” States have reported approximately 550,000 deaths from COVID-19.

Birx also said she and Trump had a “very uncomfortable” call after warning of the seriousness of the pandemic on television.

Former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows offered preliminary pro-Trump feedback on Monday, calling the doctors’ accounts “revisionist” and “dishonest.”

“I can tell you about the ‘uncomfortable’ phone call. It has nothing to do with any of this, ”Meadows retorted. “It had to do with Deborah Birx starting to talk about school closures and distance learning. And that was what it was because it was not based on science. “

Trump did not answer this phone call in detail, but said, “Dr. Birx is a proven liar with very little credibility. Many of her recommendations were considered “pseudo-science,” and Dr. Fauci always spoke negatively about her and, in fact, asked not to be in the same room with her.

Trump added: “ States that have followed his lead, like California, have had worse results on Covid and have ruined the lives of countless children because they couldn’t go to school, have ruined many businesses and countless Americans who have been killed by the lockdowns themselves. Dr Birx was a terrible medical advisor, which is why I rarely took his advice. Its motto should be “Do what I say, not what I do”. Who can forget when Dr. Birx gave the people of our nation a huge mandate not to travel, then traveled a great distance to see his family for Thanksgiving – only to call the police and report them? She then, embarrassing for her, resigned.

Of the phone call he had with Birx, Trump said, “Dr. Birx says she can’t hear very well, but I can. There were no ‘very difficult’ phone calls other than Dr Birx’s policies that would have led us directly to depression caused by COVID. It was a very negative voice that didn’t have the right answers. Time has proven me right.

Trump concluded: “I only kept Dr Fauci and Dr Birx because they worked for the US government for so long – they’re like a bad habit!”
