The star of "Beaches" – one of Trump's most ferocious critics in Hollywood – had posted the quote earlier this week to more than 1.6 million followers on Twitter. The quote, which mistakenly claimed to be from Trump, called the Republicans "the most stupid group of voters in the country".
Trump took advantage of his Twitter account on Tuesday to criticize this 73-year-old Oscar-nominated artist.

Midler had apologized on Monday for the fake quote snafu, who wrote: "I do not know how I missed it, but it looks so much like [Trump] that I thought it was true! "The quote was demystified by Snopes in 2015.
Later, she took over Twitter to talk about the controversy.

This is not the first time Trump has torn Midler on social networks. In 2012, the real estate developer of the time in New York wrote: "Although @BetteMidler is an extremely unattractive woman, I refuse to say because I always insist on being politically correct". He also wrote that Midler "had lost" during a 2014 Oscar performance.
