Trump says FBI, Justice Department could be ‘involved’ in ‘rigged election’

President Trump said on Sunday that his administration’s Justice Department and the FBI could be “involved” in an alleged large-scale electoral fraud plot in the 2020 presidential election.

There was no evidence of widespread electoral fraud, but Trump on Sunday – in his first television interview since the election – continued to say the election was “rigged.”

“It’s total fraud,” the president told Fox News. “And how the FBI and the Department of Justice – I don’t know, maybe they’re involved. But how people are allowed to get away with this stuff is amazing.

“With all the fraud that has taken place, no one came to me and said, ‘Oh, the FBI caught the people doing this scheme,'” Trump said, also adding that the DOJ was ” missing in action. “

Trump’s lawyers have alleged widespread electoral fraud in several states, claiming Democrats stole the election from Trump. Judges have repeatedly dismissed the campaign’s lawsuits, saying they were without merit. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court dismissed a case on Saturday night.

Joe Biden became the expected race winner four days after the election, when Pennsylvania turned blue, at which time he garnered over 270 electoral votes. The December 14 vote in the electoral college will make all of this official.

Trump said on Sunday he received congratulations at 10 p.m. on election night.

“This election was over, and then they dumped – they call them dumps,” the president said. “Big massive dumpsites in Michigan, Pennsylvania, everywhere.”

The mail-in ballots, which were supposed to be Democratic, were counted later than voting day. This changed some key swing states from red to blue in the days after election day.
