Former President Donald Trump has said he will travel to Ground Zero on Saturday to mark the 20th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
The 45th President revealed he will be visiting Manhattan in an interview with Fox News on Friday.
Trump had been quiet about whether he would commemorate the tragedy. On Thursday, the New Jersey Globe announced that the ex-president will travel to Ground Zero early Saturday afternoon, following the conclusion of the official ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.
Trump should not cross paths with President Biden. President and First Lady Jill Biden are expected to attend the 8:30 a.m. ceremony start before leaving New York at around 10:00 a.m. to participate in the celebrations in Shanksville, Pa. – the site of the United Airlines Flight 93 crash – and the Pentagon.
Trump has criticized Biden extensively in recent weeks over the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan and the chaotic withdrawal of US forces from the country after 20 years of war – precipitated by the events of September 11.
“It’s very depressing,” Trump told Fox News Friday of his feelings on the anniversary. “It was supposed to be a victory day. Now is a day of embarrassment. How is it going ? “

Biden initially announced in April that all U.S. combat troops would be out of Afghanistan by September 11 of this year, then pushed that deadline back to the end of August.
