The hearing is being led by Republican senators, who allege that the general election was plagued by problems, including irregularities in the postal ballot, targeted by the president in the run-up to election day. But state election officials said there was no evidence of widespread fraud in this election and that the Trump campaign’s efforts to block certification of election results in Pennsylvania, which were based on allegations of fraud , have failed.
