Democrats in the House are investigating the Trump administration for abuse of power and corruption, but the White House has blocked requests for documents and testimony.
Trump also targeted another familiar target before the D-Day ceremony in Portsmouth, UK, hitting the media for what he saw as unfair coverage. The president said that the press retained the results of his polls, which remained in the middle or low range of 40% for most of his term.
"If the totally corrupted media was less corrupt, I would gain 15 points in the polls because of our tremendous economic success, perhaps the best of all time!" Trump tweeted "If the Corrupt Media was really right, I would earn 25 points, but despite the Fake News, we are doing very well!"

The president also continued to focus on covering the protests of his visit, noting that he had been treated warmly.
Thousands of protesters gathered in London to express their dissatisfaction during the Trump state visit. But the president pointed out every day of his trip that he had not attended the large-scale demonstrations, but only to positive reactions to his presence.
"I kept hearing that there would be" massive "rallies against me in the UK, but it was just the opposite," Trump tweeted Tuesday morning. "The big crowds, which Corrupt Media hates to show, are the ones that came together to support the United States and I. They were big and enthusiastic as opposed to organized fiasco!"
Trump may not have seen the scale of the protests, as his visit was largely confined to encircled areas of central London.
He added in a separate tweet that he "could not have been treated more warmly in the UK by the royal family or the people".
