Admitting that Americans are facing a “long, cold winter,” Biden has attempted to switch to a more optimistic tone – even making promises he cannot keep about the rapidly spreading coronavirus pandemic.
“From the first day of this presidency, we will take action that will change the course of this disease,” Biden said.
The president-elect has not announced details on how he would effect this miraculous transformation, but we’ll assume that means more warnings about face masks and social distancing – things that are already being practiced now without any apparent nicks. about the virus.
“I believe you still deserve to hear the truth, to hear the truth from this president,” Biden said, drawing an implicit contrast to Trump.
