An 81-year-old man was assaulted at a ShopRite store in New Jersey, because he was wearing a "Make America Great Again" beanie, authorities said Tuesday.
The victim was confronted with a stranger over the hat shortly before 3:30 pm Monday in Franklin Township, Somerset County, officials said.
County authorities, who work with local cops on the investigation, would not disclose any additional details.
The wounded man, who lives in Franklin Township, refused medical treatment.
