In what appeared to be a glimpse of a possible stump speech if former President Trump were to finally follow through on his flirtations to launch a White House offer in 2024, Trump again targeted his successor on Saturday night.
“A year ago this month, in my inaugural address,” Trump told the large crowd of supporters at a large rally in Cullman, Ala., Returning to his speech at the Republican National Convention of 2020, “I have warned the entire country of the dire consequences of a Biden presidency.”

Trump, who struck a deal with the Taliban in February last year calling for all US troops to leave Afghanistan by May 2021 and who, during his tenure, reduced US forces to their lowest level in Afghanistan for two decades, the Taliban on Saturday called “great negotiators, tough fighters.”
Trump also criticized Biden for not “stopping the virus” as he pointed to the increase in COVID cases due to the highly contagious delta variant.
“Can you imagine if I was president and the virus came back? The former president said before criticizing Biden for “reimposing mask mandates and threatening new restrictions.”

The then president’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic as it swept the country last year was a key factor in Biden’s victory over Trump in last November’s election.
While the former president’s verbal attacks on his successor were welcomed by the crowd, as expected, Trump was pushed back when he advocated for vaccines.
“I totally believe in your freedoms, I believe, you have to do what you have to do, but I recommend taking the vaccines. I did. It’s fine,” Trump said, eliciting brief boos from the crowd. part of his supporters.
“It’s good, it’s good,” added the former president. “But I happen to be taking the vaccine. If that doesn’t work, you’ll be the first to know. But it works. You have your freedoms, you have to maintain them.”
Vaccination rates in Alabama are lower than the national average, and the state faces overcrowding in hospitals and emergency rooms as new cases of COVID increase. A local state of emergency was declared in Cullman on Thursday, two days before Trump held his rally in the northern Alabama city.

Since losing the 2020 election to Biden, Trump has repeatedly said the election was “rigged” and “stolen.”
Brooks, who is in an overcrowded and competitive GOP primary in the race to succeed retired Republican Senator Richard Shelby, was endorsed by Trump in April.
