WASHINGTON (AP) – President Donald Trump teased his run for president again in 2024 as he hosted a vacation reception at the White House on Tuesday night.
“It’s been an incredible four years,” Trump told the crowd, which included many members of the Republican National Committee. “We’re trying to do another four years. Otherwise, I’ll see you in four years.
Video of Trump’s appearance was streamed live to Facebook by participant Pam Pollard, who is a woman on the Oklahoma GOP National Committee. It showed dozens of people crammed into the State Cross Hall of the White House, standing closely together. Many of the people seen in the video were not wearing masks.
Trump started hosting holiday receptions this week, intending to celebrate one final season before Trump leaves office on Jan.20. Very important public health advice, the US government has urged the country to follow this holiday season as COVID-19 cases skyrocket across the country.
In the video, Trump continues to broadcast unsubstantiated allegations of electoral fraud to explain his defeat to President-elect Joe Biden despite his attorney general, William Barr, telling the PA Earlier on Tuesday, the Justice Department had failed to uncover evidence of widespread electoral fraud and had seen nothing that would change the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.

The White House has been the site of at least one suspected COVID-19 super-diffusion event, and dozens of aides, campaign staff and allies of the president have tested positive in multiple outbreaks. Stephanie Grisham, spokeswoman for the first lady and chief of staff, said last month that the White House was moving forward with events, “while providing the safest environment possible”. She said this would include smaller guest lists, that “masks will be needed and available, social distancing encouraged on White House grounds, and hand sanitizer stations throughout the State Floor.”
“Attending the parties will be a very personal choice,” she added.
