In a lawsuit filed Monday night, Stone – who has pleaded not guilty to charges of falsifying witnesses, obstructing justice and misrepresentation in Congress – has apologized.

"Please inform the Court that the photo and comments of today were incorrect and that they should not have been posted," reads a statement signed by Stone. "I had no intention of disrespecting the court and humbly excusing myself in court for this transgression."

Last week, Jackson placed a partial order on Stone, preventing him from commenting in front of the media or in public so as not to risk harming his case. Special advocate Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russia's efforts to interfere in the 2016 election and the fact that the Trump campaign is colluding with the Kremlin, has carried the Case against Stone in January.
