For a man obsessed with victory, Donald Trump loses a lot.
In the month since the election, the president and his legal team have failed to come together in their frenzied efforts to reverse the result, recording dozens of losses in courts across the country, with more turnover every day.
According to an Associated Press tally of around 50 cases brought by the Trump campaign and its allies, more than 30 have been dismissed or dropped, and a dozen are awaiting action.
Democracy Docket advocacy group increased Trump’s losses, tweeting friday that Trump’s team had lost 46 post-election lawsuits following several new losses in several states on Friday.
Trump notched only a small victory, with a case challenging the decision to move the deadline for providing missing proof of identity for certain mail and mail ballots in Pennsylvania.
Five more losses came on Friday. The Trump campaign lost its attempt to overturn the Nevada election results and a Michigan appeals court dismissed a case from its campaign. The Minnesota Supreme Court has dismissed a challenge brought by GOP lawmakers. And in Arizona, a judge rejected an attempt to overturn Biden’s victory there, concluding that the state’s Republican Party chairperson had not proven fraud or misconduct and that evidence presented at trial would not reverse the loss of Trump. Trump’s latest failures came when California certified Joe Biden as the state’s official winner, officially giving him the electoral majority needed to win the White House. The formal approval by Secretary of State Alex Padilla of the state’s promised 55 voters has brought Biden’s total to 279 so far, according to an Associated Press tally – just above the threshold of 270 required for victory.

“This will continue to be a losing strategy, and in a way it’s even bad for him: he can re-lose the election many times,” said Kent Greenfield, professor at Boston College Law School. “The depths of his petulance and his narcissism continue to surprise me.
Trump refused to admit he lost and this week posted a 46-minute Facebook speech filled with conspiracy theories, misstatements and vows to continue his fight to overthrow the election.
The judges of the battlefield states have repeatedly repeated the legal challenges launched by the president and his allies. Trump’s legal team has vowed to take a Pennsylvania case to the U.S. Supreme Court, even though it was thrown out in a scathing decision from a federal judge, as well as an appeals court.
After being recently kicked out of Trump’s legal team, conservative lawyer Sidney Powell filed new lawsuits in Arizona and Wisconsin this week, riddled with errors and allegations of savage election-rigging conspiracy. One of the plaintiffs named in the Wisconsin case said he never agreed to participate in the case and found out through social media that he was included.
In his video released Wednesday, Trump falsely claimed there was fact and evidence of a mass Democrat-created conspiracy to steal the election, a similar argument made by his lawyer Rudy Giuliani and others before the judges, which was largely unsuccessful.
