The president has frequently criticized a series of SMS messages exchanged with another former FBI official, Peter Strzok, where they denigrated the presidential candidate. Page and Strzok have both been involved in the FBI's investigation on Hillary Clinton's treatment of classified information, as well as on the beginning of the Bureau's investigation into the interference of Russia in the 2016 election and briefly served in the special advocate team. Strzok was dismissed from Robert Mueller's team once the SMS was discovered during internal investigations. The page left the team before the text messages were discovered.
Page and Strzok no longer work at the FBI – Page resigned and Strzok was fired. But their high-profile roles in two politically-charged investigations have placed the two FBI veterans at the GOP and Trump Center, statements of bias at the highest levels of the bureau.

Here are the facts.

Clinton inquiry

The facts first: Trump's claims regarding the Department of Justice and Clinton's e-mail inquiry are not supported by Page's recent testimony or the findings of the independent investigators.

The internal oversight body of the Department of Justice conducted a thorough review of the FBI's investigation into Clinton's treatment of a private mail server while she was secretary of the FBI. # 39; State. Precisely what "decision" Trump refers to is not clear. But if the president refers to Comey's final decision not to recommend charges, Page's testimony does not show that former FBI director, James Comey, "lied".

The former director of the FBI explained in detail why he did not think Clinton was to be the subject of a substantial complaint for his treatment of classified information.
