The horror comedy series Truth Seekers, starring Nick Frost and Simon Pegg, and airing on Amazon Prime, has been canceled after one season.

Truth seekers was canceled after one season. British horror comedy starring Nick Frost and Simon Pegg, who also created the series alongside writers Nat Saunders and James Serafinowicz (Medical certificate), premiered on Amazon Prime on October 30, 2020. The story revolves around Gus (Frost), a wireless repairman (Pegg plays Dave, his boss) investigating the paranormal via his YouTube channel as a side concert . Truth Seekers co-stars Malcolm McDowell (A clockwork orange), Samson Kayo (Dolittle) and Emma D’Arcy (Hanna).

After the inaugural first season of 8 episodes for Seekers of truth, Deadline reports that Amazon Prime has unplugged the series. Frost made the announcement to fans on his Instagram account stating that the show has been canceled and thanking fans who love the horror comedy. His full comments are below:

“Unfortunately, Truth Seekers will not be returning for a second season. Truth Seekers has not been renewed which is a huge kick in the will for me. We really put it all into it – our hearts and souls, and our blood in some cases, so not coming back is really sad for us. Too bad. I think we had a lot of pretty ghost stories to tell – stories that will remain unknown from now on. If you liked the show, thank you. And if not, are you happy now? Happy now? “

The first trailer for Truth seekers debuted with a huge buzz, which brought Pegg and Frost together. The first two collaborated on the British television series Space in 1999 before acquiring cult status and fame with modern classic films like those of 2004 Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz in 2007, and the end of the world in 2013.

Seekers of truth strangely reminded Ghostfacers, the spin-off of the 2010 web series from the longtime staple CW, Supernatural. Both involved ‘Everyman’ type characters running YouTube sites chasing the paranormal, only to end up above their heads once they caught it. The line shorts only lasted one season, just like Seekers of truth, which is a shame because horror and comedy (much like Frost and Pegg) always make a natural and welcome couple.
