Tucker Carlson opposes the scandalous Internet crowd; that does not mean that he's right

Tucker Carlson, suddenly under fire from critics he had made about women, gained support for his refusal to calm down in front of the scandalous Internet crowd.

That's not to say that he's right. But at a time when many Conservatives just want to "own the Liberals", it is praised by some unsuspecting supporters.

But Carlson's recently redesigned clips on the "Bubba the Love Sponge" radio show are just as bad as his detractors support him. Speaking of Warren Jeffs, who, at the time of Carlson's remarks, was facing criminal charges for his role in organizing the marriage of underage girls, and would eventually convicted of having raped his own child wives, Carlson said that it was not so serious, as he said, "the rapist, in this case, is engaged since always to live and take care of the person, so it is a little different. I mean, let's be honest about it. "

In another segment, after Jeffs was found guilty of arranging marriages with underage girls, Carlson then defended Jeffs:

CARLSON: He is in prison because he is strange and unpopular and he has a lifestyle different from that of others.

CO-HOST: No, he's an accomplice of child rape. It's a crime and a serious one to that.

CARLSON: What do you mean by accessory? He has as a strange religious cult where he thinks it's okay to marry minor girls.

On a different segment, when asked if her 14-year-old daughter could experiment sexually with other girls from her boarding school, Carlson replied to the host: "If it was not my daughter, would love this scenario. "

In another clip, he defends a teacher who had problems having slept with a 13-year-old student by saying, "What I mean is that teachers like that – not necessarily this particular one but they render a service to all. 13 year old girls relieving pressure. They are a pressure relief valve, like the one you have on your furnace. "

Carlson also had this to say about women: "They hate weakness, they are like dogs, they can smell it, they despise it, they will bite you," he added later. I adore women, but they are extremely primitive, elemental, not difficult to understand. And one of the things that they hate more than anything is the weakness of the man. "

Regardless of what you think of Carlson's critics, there is clearly a lot to dispute in his comments, and many that the Conservatives should flatly reject.

Conservatism is not just about "owning libs". If it's anything to do with values, it's simply an elaborate but useless game of us against them. There is no need to join an outrageous group of social justice to find Carlson's feelings here despicable, or to take a principled stance against what he said.
