Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) slammed Fox News’s Tucker Carlson on Saturday after the TV host mocked women in the military earlier this week.

Speaking on MSNBC, Moulton, who served in the Marine Corps, called Conservative Carlson saying he “knew nothing” about his membership in the military.

The Democratic lawmaker added that Carlson’s comments were “offensive” to both men and women.

“He doesn’t know what he is talking about. It’s offensive not only to women in the military, but also to men in the military. It’s offensive to army chiefs. It’s offensive. for anyone who is willing to wear a uniform, to uphold our core values, ”said Moulton.

“And by the way, it’s also offensive to women in the workplace all over America. These views would be extreme for the 1950s and it seems like a more suitable place for Tucker Carlson to have his talk show.” , he added.

Moulton’s comments came after Carlson made fun of pregnant women in the military, and complained that the US military was getting too “feminine” on his Tuesday night show.

Her remarks came a day after President Joe Biden praised women in the military and acknowledged the recent promotion of two female generals on International Women’s Day.

“So we have new hairstyles and maternity flight suits. Pregnant women are going to wage our wars. This is a mockery of the US military,” Carlson said Tuesday.

“As the Chinese army becomes more masculine as it has assembled the largest navy in the world, our army must become, as Joe Biden says, more feminine, whatever the feminine meaning,” he said. he added, as a photo of an air force officer modeling the pregnant woman. the flight suit appeared next to him on the screen.

Carlson has since faced backlash from veterans and active military figures. Pentagon press secretary John Kirby publicly berated Carlson for his remarks on Thursday.

“We still have a lot of work to do to make our military more inclusive,” Kirby told reporters. “What we absolutely won’t do is take personal advice from a talk show host or the Chinese military. Maybe these people feel like they have something to prove, it’s on them. “

Senator Tammy Duckworth, a retired Army National Guard Lt. Col. who lost both legs to combat injuries while serving in the Iraq War, also shot Carlson.

“F – k Tucker Carlson,” Duckworth tweeted Wednesday. “While he was practicing his two steps, American warriors were hunting down Al Qaeda and proving the strength of American women.”

“Happy belated International Women’s Day to everyone except Tucker, that even I can dance better,” the Illinois senator tweeted.

In response to the backlash, Carlson retaliated by calling the critics “awake generals” on Friday night.

“It was quite an experience yesterday to be the very first target of the Pentagon’s new ‘Operation Silence Talk Show Host’. For a minute, we’ll admit we were almost shaken. Then we realized that if the awakened generals treated us as if they had treated the Taliban, everything will be fine. Twenty years later, the Taliban are still there, ”Carlson said.

On Saturday Moulton said he believed it was appropriate for the Pentagon to make Carlson’s views known.

“I think given the audience he commands, it was appropriate for the Pentagon to respond,” he said.

Newsweek contacted a representative for Moulton for further comment, but did not receive a response in time for the post.
