According to a Bayer AG press release, the company plans to end the work of around 12,000 people as part of the global restructuring. The German company will focus on medicine, consumer health and plant sciences by selling the animal health division.
By the end of 2017, the company was providing around 100,000 jobs worldwide, including 31,000 620 in Germany.
Bayer AG is on the agenda with the purchase of the US agricultural company Monsanto for $ 63 billion.
After the purchase, Monsanto, the producer of Roundup's herbicide, was sentenced to pay $ 289 million this year in August due to the fact that a gardener had been reached a cancer. Bayer, at least 9,000 drug-related cases, has not accepted allegations that the cancer would have appealed the decision.
