NIGERIA Meeting with Oil Minister Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu in Abuja, Falih said all ministers wanted to stabilize the oil markets. Signals from OPEC members in Iraq, Nigeria and Libya were positive before the OPEC meeting in Vienna on December 6.
Kachikwu said it was too early to tell him that Nigeria would not participate in any cuts.
Saudi Arabia is de facto the leader of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). In early November, Mr Falih said the large oil supply could force OPEC and its allies to take action to cut production in 2019.
Nigeria was excluded from the production cuts initiated in 2017 due to the sharp reduction in production caused by domestic disturbances. However, Nigeria's oil production has since resumed.
